To Install Utopia in your TeX
This is from here, mostly. It may not be all strictly necessary, but it got me the ability to use Utopia again, so... your mileage may vary.
- First, download this: utopiatexmf.tgz (originally here)
- Unzip that, and put all of the files in it, exactly as you find them (same folder hierarchy and everything) in texmf-local, wherever that is. If you installed using fink on OSX, like I did, you can put them in ~/Library/texmf/. We'll call this location texmf-local.
- Copy texmf-local/tex/latex/utopia.sty to texmf-local/tex/latex/psnfss/utopia.sty
- Copy the files from here (originally here) into texmf-local/dvips/config/.
- Run texhash as root.
- Run cd texmf-local/dvips/config/.
- Run updmap --enable Map utopia.map as root.
- To prevent possible licensing fuss, copy Adobe's copyright notice from here to a file, for example in a file texmf-local/doc/fonts/utopia/copyright.txt
